Refund policy
1. Returns – New Products Only
We have a 30-day return policy for new products, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return, unless specifically stated otherwise in the product listing.
To be eligible for a return, the item must be unused, in its original condition, with all original packaging, accessories, and proof of purchase.

The compatibility of any product is the purchaser’s responsibility. Customers are encouraged to review product documentation or contact us at support@digitalbaytech.com prior to purchase to confirm compatibility.
2. Damages and Shipping issues (All Products)
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective upon arrival (DOA), damaged during shipping, or if you received the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
3. Warranty – New Products
New products may be covered by a manufacturer-provided warranty, when applicable.
Warranty coverage, duration, and conditions are determined by the manufacturer.
Digital Bay Tech acts as the initial point of contact for warranty-related claims and may, at its discretion, assist with troubleshooting, replacement, repair, or referral to the manufacturer’s authorized warranty service.
Warranty coverage applies only to defects in materials or workmanship under normal and intended use and does not cover damage or failure caused by:
- Incorrect or improper installation
- Wiring errors or electrical faults
- Overvoltage, power surges, or electrical irregularities
- Water, moisture, or environmental exposure
- Modifications or alterations
- Misuse, negligence, or user error
If manufacturer warranty service is required, the customer may be responsible for shipping costs to and from the manufacturer or authorized service center, unless otherwise stated in the product listing.
4. Open Box Products – Warranty & Returns
Open Box products are sold AS IS, fully functional, and inspected and tested by Digital Bay Tech prior to shipping, unless explicitly stated otherwise in the product listing.
4.1 Returns & Exchanges (Open Box)
All Open Box products are final sale.
No returns, refunds, or exchanges are accepted for Open Box items.
4.2 Warranty Coverage – Open Box Products
Warranty coverage for Open Box products may vary depending on the specific product and condition.
Some Open Box products may include a manufacturer-provided warranty, while others may be covered by a Digital Bay Tech Limited Replacement Warranty, unless explicitly stated otherwise in the product listing.
In all cases, Digital Bay Tech will act as the initial point of contact for any Open Box warranty-related claim and will determine the appropriate resolution at its discretion.
Digital Bay Tech Limited Replacement Warranty (Open Box – When Applicable)
When a Digital Bay Tech Limited Replacement Warranty applies, it provides:
- Coverage for verified manufacturer defects only
- Replacement with an equivalent unit if the claim is approved
- No refunds
For consumer purchases, this warranty applies only when the device is installed strictly according to the manufacturer’s official wiring diagrams and specifications.
All warranty claims are subject to technical inspection and final approval by Digital Bay Tech.
4.3 Warranty Exclusions (Open Box)
The following are not covered under any Open Box warranty:
- Incorrect or improper installation
- Wiring errors or electrical faults
- Overvoltage or power surges
- Water, moisture, or environmental exposure
- Modifications or alterations
- Misuse, negligence, or user error
⚠️ Electrical Smart devices are recommended for users with basic electrical knowledge or professional installation.
5. Non-Returnable Items
The following items are non-returnable and sold final sale, unless explicitly stated otherwise in the product listing:
- Open Box products
- Used products
- Sale items
- Gift cards
Physically damaged, abused, or misused products are not eligible for return.
6. Exchanges (New Products Only)
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
7. Return Process (New Products Only)
This return process applies to voluntary returns of eligible new products only and does not apply to warranty claims.
To start a return process, the customer must request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Please contact us at support@digitalbaytech.com to receive your RMA number before shipping to us.
All returns must be clearly labeled with the assigned RMA number and shipped within 10 days from the date of issuance. RMA numbers are valid for 10 days only.
The customer is responsible for all shipping charges from the customer to Digital Bay Tech offices.
Shipping costs may be deducted from the refund amount, when applicable.
All returned items must be received in new, resalable condition, with all original packaging, accessories, and documentation.
Please do not write directly on the product or packaging, as items must remain in resalable condition or the return may be rejected.
Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will notify you whether the refund has been approved or rejected.
If approved, refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 10 business days.
Please note that it may take additional time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund. If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at info@digitalbaytech.com
8. Return Fees (New Products Only)
The following fees may apply, depending on the specific circumstances of the return and at the sole discretion of Digital Bay Tech:
- A restocking fee of up to 20% may be applied for non-defective returns
- Payment processing fees charged by credit card processors or PayPal (up to 4%) may be deducted from the refund
Factors considered may include, but are not limited to:
- Order volume
- Frequency of returns
- Condition of the returned item
- Return reason
Condition Discrepancies After Inspection
If an item is returned as “unused” or “new condition” but, upon inspection, is found to be used, installed, damaged, missing accessories, or otherwise not in resalable condition, Digital Bay Tech reserves the right to apply one of the following resolutions, at its discretion:
- Issue a partial refund, with a reduction of up to 40% of the product price, based on the item’s condition, depreciation, testing time, and handling required
- Return the item to the customer, with all shipping costs billed to the customer
- Offer store credit for an adjusted amount, when applicable
The final refund amount, if any, will be determined after inspection and evaluation of the returned item.
Original shipping and handling fees are non-refundable.
If a return is approved, refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 10 business days, excluding any applicable fees or adjustments.
9. Replacement Shipping
If a return or warranty replacement is approved, Digital Bay Tech will cover standard (non-expedited) shipping for the replacement item back to the customer.
10. Testing Ideas Before Requesting RMA
Before requesting an RMA, customers are encouraged to:
- Review the manufacturer’s documentation and online forums
- Test the power supply and cables
- Reduce the setup to the simplest possible configuration
- Remove external devices and accessories
- Contact Digital Bay Tech for assistance if needed
This helps resolve common issues quickly and reduces unnecessary returns.
